YOUR CHANCE TO TRY BELL RINGING

If you would like to learn about bell ringing or are just curious come to our

Tower Open Evening
on Tuesday, 19th AND Thursday 21st October, 7.30 – 9 pm at St. Giles Church, Leigh on Mendip.

You do not need to be a regular churchgoer to be a bell ringer, neither do you have to be very fit – if you can ride a bike you can learn to ring!  All ages from 12 up can learn to ring.  At present we cannot teach unaccompanied children but family groups are welcome.

Bell ringing is a sociable activity (we usually end up in the pub on practice evenings) which will give you gentle physical exercise and can provide challenging mental stimulation.  Change ringing is also a uniquely English tradition which dates back to the 16th century.

For more information contact one of the ringers:  Julian Back – 813636, Jackie & John Davis– 01749 880825, Marcus Barton – 813096, Alastair Weston – 812654
