Bishop of Taunton welcomes our new Priest
Every seat in the church in Stoke St. Michael was filled on Saturday
November 12, for the Licensing and Installation of the Reverend Anthony Dickson
as Priest-in-Charge of the United Parish of Postlebury and the Benefices of
Stoke St. Michael, and Leigh on Mendip with Downhead. The service was led by
the The Right Reverend Peter Maurice, Bishop of Taunton and The Venerable
Nicola Sullivan, Archdeacon of Wells. In his address, the Bishop spoke of the
challenges ahead for Father Anthony in this enlarged parish. The Reverend
Martin Weymont, Priest-in-Charge of the Mells Group of churches led the
prayers. At a tea party afterwards in The Memorial Hall in Stoke St. Michael
the Archdeacon thanked all concerned for the hard work and dedication in the
months since the retirement of the two previous priests.
Father Anthony and his family will be living in Nunney Rectory.
