Minutes of Meeting Held on 4th May 2004

Minutes of previous meeting were agreed and signed.

Treasurer's Report Still plenty of money in accounts, currently standing at total of £10,922.71. KC to transfer more from current to savings account. SV and GB gave in expense claims.

Booking clerk's report A fairly busy period with bookings for local childrens parties, Somerset CC, regular attic sales and the WI monthly coffee morning amongst others.

Correspondence 1) Community Council for Somerset News letters, one to be circulated 2) Info sheet from UK film council 3) Leaflet from Mendip re a Parish Project traiing day. 4) Brian’s bill for panels.

Maintenance 1) Cork panels up and look good!. 2)Wire fence and concrete post removal, SV still to check with PC if deeds exist which restrict actions, Brian Loten would do if required for about £30. 3) Tree shoots in road, GB has done, requested permission to prune bush by shed, agreed. 5) Car Park. Bell has filled in large holes on their part, SV to find out if feasible to tarmac just small area at front of hall to tie in with, but has re-distributed gravel to give temporary improvement for wheel chair/pushchair users. 6) SV had bought table cloths. GB holding fire on patterned ones as numbers for coffee morning to use them at still low.

Fund Raising 1) Quiz, a very enjoyable and fairly successful evening. Questions at the right level, only 10 teams compared to 14 last year and half draught beer left but still made small profit, around £110, final figure not worked out yet. One rather strange issue, several of RO’s posters were taken down before the event, no one knew by who. 2) Fete, GB confirmed will be getting together with Anne Orpwood re doing refreshments with WI. Funding of clock still undecided, person who was going to do it now can’t. 3) Band concert in Nov, too early to make plans

AOB 1) Date of stage clear out confirmed as 5^th June, wrongly put in mag as 15^th, please meet at 10 am for shortish session. 2) John Wright’s brother may be interested in screens. Could also approach Nunney. Problem may be lack of “feet” to support them. 3) SV suggested advertising existence of table cloths in village mag but not leaving them in hall, SV could keep at home or any other suitable arrangement.
