MINUTES OF ANNUAL PARISH MEETING
HELD ON
MONDAY 17 MAY 2004
AT 8.00 PM IN THE MEMORIAL HALL
Meeting
attended by 18 parishioners and chaired by Gerald Jeanes.
Acceptance
of the minutes of last years annual parish meeting as a true record was
proposed by Neville Park and seconded by John Wright.

Discussion
arising from newsletter:
Refusal by
SCC of extension 30 mph limit, traffic hazards by Leigh on Mendip First School.
Thanks from
A Robson for alteration of the stiles in Stocks Lane following her complaint.
The current
position of progress of planning for affordable housing in Leigh Street.
Hall Report -see copy attached.
A request
was made to remove posts at the front of the hall as these were in a bad state
of repair. This matter was put on the agenda of the Parish Council meeting in
June.
Rec. Field -see copy attached.
Questions
from the floor - the whereabouts of a missing plaque for a tree planted to mark
the Golden Jubilee. Steve Anderson undertook to get this replaced.
The meeting
was opened to the floor and the following points were raised:-
Danger from
Traffic at Townsend.
Parish
Wardens - John Hickling is moving to the University of the West of England. Paul
is to stay in the area.
Neighbourhood
Watch - K Cockcroft was concerned at the service level experienced by the
village. It was suggested he contact the authorities personally.
Police - PC
Tracy Spencer has now taken over the role of Community police officer and can
be contacted via Frome Police Station.
There being
no further business the meeting was closed.
