MINUTES OF
LEIGH ON MENDIP PARISH
COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 8 JUNE 2004
Councillors present: J Wright, C Cudmore, G Jeanes Chairman.
Apologies: P Moore, N Park, G Cawood
PLANNING 1. Ground at Park Hayes application by MDC Finance Dept. for outline planning consent for 1 house and garage. This section of the meeting was attended by 18 members of the public. Comments from the public were invited and included :-
· The land had been used by village people for recreational purposes for at least 50 years and under policy section EM12 of the Mendip Development Plan should be protected as an informal recreational space. Although never formally registered as common land might it still be possible to do this?
· The exit from Park Hayes onto Leigh Street adjacent to this land is a traffic hazard and visibility would be further impaired by the development of this piece of land.
The council therefore decided to object with additional comments in the form of a letter from the Chairman. ACTION CLERK & CHAIRMAN
2. Field View application for ground floor rear extension. No objection and no comments.
3. Whitehole Farm application to convert redundant barn for holiday/educational use. No objection and no comments.
