LEIGH-ON-MENDIP PARISH COUNCIL A G M HELD ON MONDAY 21 MAY 1990 AT 7.30pm IN LEIGH SCHOOL. Present were Parish Councillors - J Davis, A Gould (who arrived late), Mrs H Park, D Pattison and D Yelland; seven parishioners and A Merrick, Somerset County Councillor. Apologies had been received from D Turner and the Clerk. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN D Pattison proposed the re-election of D Yelland, J Davis seconded. Mr Yelland agreed to stand and was elected. Mr Yelland accepted the Chairmanship on condition that the Vice Chairman's name appear on correspondence concerning quarrying as "Chairman on Quarry Matters" this was agreed by all. ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN D Yelland proposed the re-election of J Davis, Mrs Park seconded the motion. Mr Davis agreed to stand and was duely elected. He will also be Chairman for all Quarry matters. The Minutes of the last AGM were read out. Mr Yelland welcomed Mrs Park and Mr Pattison to their first AGM as Councillors. ELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVES School Governors - J Davis. Memorial Hall - Mrs H Park. Recreation Field Management Committee - A Gould. SALC - D Turner. East Mendip Quarry Advisory Committee) Asham & East Mendip Group) - J Davis. Mr Merrick stated that there wouold be a meeting of the East Mendip Quarry Advisory Group on June 21. It was to advise the local MP and was being reconstituted and would consist of 2 County Councillors, 2 District Councillors, 2 Parish Councillors (chosen most probably by SALC from all the Councils with quarries in their parishes) and 3 Quarry Representatives (chosen from all the local quarries). FINANCIAL STATEMENT Please find copy of accounts attatched. No comments were made and the accounts were accepted. Mr Yelland thanked Mrs Loten for her work in preparing the accounts. It was agreed that the Parish Council would meet at 6 weekly intervals and as required. The ANNUAL PARISH OPEN MEETING will take place on Monday June 4 in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm. 3 June 1990.
