MINUTES OF LEIGH-ON-MENDIP PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON 25 APRIL 1994 IN THE SCHOOL.
Councillors present were J Davis, R Dixon, S Haywood, M Loten,
H Mawdsley, D Pattison and D Turner.
Apologies had been received from County Cllr A Merrick.
MATTERS ARISING
All letters had been written by the Clerk but no replies to date.
HM & DP had written regarding the Radon problem.
Noticeboard - destroyed. ML will investigate having one made.(ML)
The Minutes were accepted and signed.
FINANCE
It was proposed by DT, seconded by RD that the PC play the
Planning fee for the shed at the REC FIELD. All agreed.
FLOWER FESTIVAL - (SH & ML declared an interest).
The committee requested money for a banner to advertise the
Festival in aid of St Giles Fabric Fund. DP proposed and RD
seconded buying a banner costing £150. All agreed. (CLERK)
LUMP - (ML & DP declared an interest). JD chaired this item.
Matter under discussion was the purchase of staging blocks.
Concern was expressed as to storage if the Andersons moved. The
possibility of storing them at the School will be raised at
Governors meeting on 28 April. DT proposed buying the blocks, SH
seconded, all agreed. A cheque was made out for £312.00 and
given to Dave Anderson. (JD)
UNDER 5'S cheque made out for £35 for Planning Application costs,
see Minutes 28 March 1994. (CLERK)
NOTIFICATION OF AUDIT received.
PRECEPT of £1800 received and paid into PO inv. a/c.
PAYMENT OF CLERKS SALARY AND EXPENSES for 6 months to March 31 1994.
Salary £210, Expenses £ 35.70, Total £245.70.
DP proposed payment, ML seconded, all agreed. Cheque made out.
ROADS AND FOOTPATHS - SCC will be thanked for white lining at
Knap Hill - Hollybush junction. (CLERK)
Park Corner footpath churned up by tethered animals. (RD)
Whitehole Hill - Pitten Street hedge overgrown. (CLERK)
Stile on FP at back of Fern Cottage needs attention. (DT)
Concern that maize will block FP on land rented to V Turner. SCC
Footpaths Dept will be consulted. (CLERK)
Councillors were reminded about Parish Path Maintenance Scheme.
QUARRY MATTERS
New MPG6 Guidelines printed. PC will get a copy. (RD)
BGL site meeting 26/04, discussion 28/04.

NEXT MEETING - AGM at 1930h. APM at 2000h in Hall on 23 May.
Neighbourhood Watch liaison policeman Lester Silk will attend at
approx 1945h and give a short talk.
