LEIGH-ON-MENDIP PARISH COUNCIL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
                HELD ON 18 MAY 1998 IN THE HALL.

Councillors present:  M Loten, P Moore, D Pattison, D Turner  and 
J Wright. J Davis arrived late.
D  Pattison  welcomed  parishioners and Mike  St  John,  Somerset 
County Councillor to the meeting.
Apologies were received from the local police.

J Wright took the Chair.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN
J  Wright proposed D Pattison, M Loten seconded - all agreed  and 
DP was re-elected.

D Pattison took the Chair.
ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIRMAN
D  Pattison proposed J Wright, P Moore seconded - all agreed  and 
JW was re-elected.

FINANCE
The accounts for 1997-98 were presented.  DP proposed adoption of 
the  accounts, DT seconded, all agreed and the Account  Book  was 
signed by DP and the Clerk.
PM thanked ML for her work on the annual accounts.
REC  FIELD ACCOUNT - A bill from Wickstead Leisure for  £2696-98p 
for  the purchase of play equipment was presented.   DP  proposed 
payment,  DT seconded, all agreed and cheque no 10 was  made  out 
and signed.
CURRENT  ACCOUNT - Insurance premium from Cornhill  Insurance  of 
£80.08p  was  due.   DP proposed payment,  DT  seconded  and  all 
agreed.  Cheque no 269 was made out and signed.
Community  Council for Somerset subscription of £10.00  due.   ML 
proposed payment, JD seconded and all agreed.  Cheque no 270 was 
made out and signed.
Hall  Rent  - DT proposed payment of £10 rent, DP  seconded,  all 
agreed.  Cheque no 271 was made out and signed.
