County Councillor Gloria Cawood presents £300 to Mandy Garcia-Perez to help Leigh-on-Mendip Babies and Toddler Group. (In picture babies, toddlers and mums)

PRESS RELEASE

County Councillor Gloria Cawood was delighted to present a cheque for £300 to Play Group Leader, Mandy Garcia-Perez, at the Leigh-on-Mendip Baby & Toddler Group’s Christmas Party.

The £300 is drawn from the County Councillors Community Fund. Each Councillor has £5000 that they can allocate to community projects in their division.

The grant will be used by the Leigh-on-Mendip Baby & Toddler group to buy child size tables and educational toys.

Cllr Cawood said:

“Babies and Toddler Groups are very important, enabling mothers to meet, share experiences and support each other. This is particularly relevant in rural areas, where isolation can be a problem; it is also important that children in rural areas have an early opportunity to socialize with other young children.”
