DAYTIME MEETINGS SEPTEMBER – NOVEMBER 2007
All lunches 12-1pm Approx.
Tuesday 4th September,
12noon – 1pm approx.
Picnic in the Park (Recreation
Field/Building) Note: All the food is provided as usual so just book
and turn up. If the weather is
unsuitable then we will have the picnic in the Recreation Field building.
Tuesday 18th September, Evening
meeting, see below
Monday 24 September, 10am – 1pm
Boules and other activities (Vobster Inn) including hot lunch. Start at Recreation Field
building for tea/coffee. The boules
is intended to be fun only. Judging from
the activities in the playground last time, nothing too serious is likely! If the weather is unsuitable (too cold or
wet) we will have an alternative activity for inside the Vobster Inn. We have hired the Reception room for the
event. Please book for this
event now.
World War I – what did it mean to Leigh on Mendip? Recreation Field building. We will not
have all the answers to the question, but maybe you can help us understand
further. Although the focus is on Leigh
on Mendip, the talk (by Graham/Caroline) should be of interest to non Leigh on
Mendip residents and will include a focus on the Thiepval memorial (on the
Somme).
Monday 26th November,
10am - 1pm
T’ai Chi taster session (Nunney
Hall). Start at Recreation Field
building for tea/coffee. Lunch
afterwards at Recreation Field. We will tell you more about T’ai Chi nearer the time – another
opportunity to enjoy yourself.
Tuesday 18th September, 7 - 9pm
Digital photography/computing. Whilst this is a follow on to the
last session, it does not matter whether you attended the August meeting or
not. We (Graham/Caroline/Clive) will
continue to use the excellent photographs taken at the last meeting for further
work, (subject to paying royalties of course!). We will also run an advice surgery (but no guarantee that we will
know the answer immediately) and provide an opportunity to look at the Leigh on
Mendip website (through an offline demonstration). We will also use the meeting to identify the priority areas for
future meetings – if you have a digital camera and want help with it, then please
bring along this time. It is helpful
for the planning to know how many are going to turn up – so please confirm
if you are coming.
