PROGRESS WITH THE COMMUNITY ACTIVITY PROJECT

 

ACTIVE LIVING CENTRE The next three main meetings will be on  28 April, 26 May and 23 Jun, all starting at 10am - anyone over 50 years is very welcome and the activities are optional and free.  Lunch remains at £4 per person.  We have now secured our funding for 2008 and are planning both talks by external speakers and a number of gentle activities.   These will be advertised on the Recreation Field noticeboard.  The next computing/internet meeting is 7pm, 15 April.

 

DANCE – dance lessons continue at 7-8pm on Fridays at the Memorial Hall.  The cost is £2.50 per person.   Just turn up.

 

YOUTH CLUB Monday’s, 6.30-8.00pm, Recreation Field building. The next meeting is 28 April, open to 8 -12 years (cost 50p per child).   Adult volunteers welcome to support a rota.   Caroline on 812889.   

 

RECYCLING FOR CARDBOARD AND PLASTIC BOTTLES

Recycling has started!  Next collections 5th and 19th April at the Recreation Field 10.30am – 11.15am.  its success will depend on your co-operation and at least one volunteer offering to help at each collection.  Both cardboard and plastic bottles (without tops) need to be squashed to reduce the volume.  The collection does not include fruit juice containers such as Tetrapak or other plastic containers.    Leaflets are available explaining more about recycling.

 

BUILDING EXTENSION

Plans are progressing well to build the small extension to the Recreation Field building to house the new kitchen/bar and to support  renewable energy.
