1.0    Apologies for Absence: Caroline Peat was able to attend the end of the meeting and Steve Anderson was on holiday.

 

2.00 Previous Minutes: Minutes for meetings 5.10.04 & 25.11.04 were agreed and signed.

 

3.00 Football Club: Frome Town Boys and Jim’s team were continuing to play.

 

4.00 Cricket Club: Nothing to report.

 

5.00 Cricket Social Club: Has electrical equipment been tested as requested by insurance? SW to ask Eddie                                                                                                                    ACTION: SW

 

6.00 Jobs:

1)Grounds Maintenance:. Two broken tree branches to be dealt with. One at entrance by JR/AR and one on fence line by VH.                                                                ACTION:JR/AR/VH

 

2)  Spoil Heap: Rest of Heap to be dismantled.

 

3)  Playground:

Small swing seat top rail nuts to be covered, these had been ordered from Wicksteed

VH reported that the seat on the small swing was wearing.

 

4) Electrics: Emergency lighting test procedure to be done at each meeting. ACTION: ALL

 

5) Concrete ends to Benches: Still a few around the ground. If anyone going to Coleford tip, please take one with you.                                                                                        ACTION: ALL

6)Water heater: This is now kaput. It was decided to replace with a new one and Frank and Dags had offered to do this. Need to find out if propane gas boilers need a Corgi installer before proceeding. JR to contact Hobleys.                                                                                          ACTION:JR

Also to notify Jim’s team that there would be no showers after matches and fee would be £20 instead of £35.                                                                                                                                 ACTION:JR

7) Goalposts:  To be painted with white gloss.                                                          ACTION:VH

7.00 Financial Report :- No report, as now being prepared for end of year at AGM.

VH reported that Parish Council can pay the Insurance Premium or a proportion of it. SA to confirm details at next meeting.                                                                                              ACTION:SA

 

8.00 Fund Raising:

The Bonus Club winners for December and January were John Preedy, Julie Davidson, Vicky Winks and Derek and Liz Robinson.

Burns Night    22nd January 2005

Tickets were allocated with an aim of selling 70 tickets. See separate sheet for names.

1-9: Caroline, 10-21 David, 22-40 & 57-66 Vicky, 41-44 Dave, 45-56 Anne/Jan.

SA to purchase 24 red & 12 white wine at cost                                                          ACTION:SA

If numbers exceeded 55, then more wine may need to be purchased.

DP to purchase 18 bottles Mineral Water, 4 packs orange juice, 2 bottles lemonade, 2 bottles coke and to supply 12 bottles Lager.                                                                                               ACTION:DP

VH to purchase food and to hand out swedes and potatoes to be cooked.

Other Fund raising ideas:

Walking Treasure Hunt around the village, Car Boot Sales.

 

9.0    Fair          New date: Saturday 18th June 2005.

There had been a productive start-up meeting.

10.0     Any Other Business:

Inspection Report: VH doing weekly.                                     .           .           ACTION: VH

 

Alarm Testing: JR had written to LJH confirming their sponsorship of this in November 2005.

 

Smartwater: Kit had arrived and the Recreation Field needed to be marked. ACTION:JR/DP

 

Disabled Discrimination Act (October 2004)/Asbestos Act (May 2004):

JR had provided Asbestos Register. Holes above ceiling tiles should be sealed. DP thought he could use his excess expanded foam.                                                                                                                                                                                 ACTION: DP

 

Grants: Grant from Gloria Caywood of £350 towards the water heater had been applied for. There had been no acknowledgement.
