Applications for Pharmacy at Coleford – summary of representations received by NHS Somerset

As of yesterday, NHS Somerset had also received 731 letters from members of the public, signed by 930 people, opposing the applications (however many people have written twice, firstly about the application from Unicare and then again regarding the application from John Ware).

NHS Somerset's Patient & Public Involvement Team is currently undertaking an analysis of the letters, and will be preparing a report to be presented to the Pharmaceutical Services Committee when it considers the applications.

At the present time, we are able to provide the following breakdown of the letters received. We have received:

• 272 letters (348 signatories) opposing the application from Unicare Pharmacy Ltd

• 243 letters (312 signatories) opposing the application from John Ware Ltd

•        216 letters (270 signatories) either opposing both applications, opposing the opening of any pharmacy in Coleford or expressing general support for the dispensing role of Mendip Country Practice.
