The Police would like me to issue yet another warning regarding the distraction type burglaries that are still occurring within this District. Could you please once again contact your elderly or vulnerable neighbours and attempt to ensure that they do not open their doors to any cold callers no matter what urgency there appears to be. If possible they should contact either yourself, a neighbour or family member to assist with identifying the caller before opening the door. All suspicious callers must be reported immediately to the Police and if necessary use the 999 system.
