With Hallow'een and Bonfire Night fast
approaching, please bear in mind the following safety issues:
Fireworks are explosives and can be very dangerous; they
are not toys and should never be used in the street. They can cause distress to
the very young, the elderly and to pets - PLEASE think of others and do not let
off fireworks near their homes or late at night.
When buying fireworks look for the mark BS7114; this means they meet the British
Standards for safety.
Hallow'een is a time for Trick or Treat, please bear in mind that this can cause
anxiety to some members of the community, who may not wish to have callers to
their door. Please respect their wishes.
High visibility posters can be obtained from your local Police Station, paper
and NHW co-ordinator to place in your window to deter Hallow'een callers.
