St Giles Church Vandalism
For some time notices have
been set alight in the church porch and cans and bottles of drink left in the
porch.
Towards the end of the year
one of the noticeboards had been removed from the wall and left in pieces on
the floor.
On
New Year's Day the figurine of St. Giles was missing. The area around
and above where it stood was charred and there was a pile of ashes on the
ledge. There were several cigarette butts pushed down in between the door
and the porch step.
The
incidents have been reported to the Police.
PC Hamilton and PCSO Williams are keeping an eye on the area around the church in the evenings.
We need everyone to be
vigilant. If you see anything
suspicious or can assist with these enquiries please contact PCSO Peter
Williams on 07825 388945 or the police on 0845 4567000.
What may have started off as some shelter from the weather has
gradually escalated to serious damage and could easily cause a major fire.
Please
help us to keep our village safe and sound.
