HOW TO GET MEDICAL TREATMENT OUT OF HOURS

What happens when you need to contact a doctor urgently and your surgery is closed?

If you have a serious medical condition and you need advice, you should:

• telephone 0870 240 6334 to speak to the Out of Hours Medical Service

        (you will also be told this number if you ring your GP surgery)

If your medical condition is not urgent, you should:

• telephone your GP surgery when it is next open,

    or

• call NHS Direct on 0845 46 47

If your medical condition is critical you should call 999 and ask for an ambulance
