STREET CLEANING

PROBLEM

Parked cars prevent the mechanical road sweeper from cleaning the gutters. 

SOLUTION

The sweeper is now visiting 5 times a year. The dates will be advertised on "Whats On" and the Parish Noticeboards (outside Herbert Dun House and The Bell).   

Contact will be made with the contractors (Fountains) to confirm the sweeping time and day (if possible the sweep will be between 9am and 4 pm, when most cars have left for work with their drivers).

Fountains are providing leaflets to deliver to the village.

A number of individuals and organisations are working together to overcome this problem, but it relies on everyone making the effort to keep the streets clear whilst the sweeper is visiting.

Note:   The sweeper sometimes passes through the village on its way to Stoke before returning to sweep Leigh - don't be fooled by this initial fly past!
